But first, some history --
...........Founding Principle
New Creation Counseling Center was founded in 1993 on the principle that professional Christian counseling should be available to the entire community, even if a person cannot afford the full cost of care.
To that end, the Center has devised a sliding fee schedule based on income and ability to pay the full cost of services. The Center is also able to accept many insurance plans, as well as major credit cards to pay for the cost of care.
...........Counseling
New Creation Counseling Center has a staff of professional counselors licensed by the state of Ohio. The Center also employs an ordained pastor offering pastoral counseling. All counselors at New Creation are prepared to help people with problems such as depression, anxiety, family and marital problems, relationship problems, grief and loss issues, and addictions. New Creation is also blessed with some excellent children's counselors, as well as counselors experienced in working with adolescents. All of our professional staff can help with issues of spiritual growth as part of your counseling experience.
FAQ'S:
The cost of counseling? Charges are based on the amount of time spent with the licensed professional counselor, social worker or marriage and family therapist. A "clinical hour" is usually 45-55 minutes. If uninsured, you may qualify for reduced cost for your professional counseling.
Can I use my insurance? Yes! Most of our licensed counselors are on a variety of insurance panels as well as several Employee Assistance Programs. Call your mental health insurance "800" number to find out more.
Appointments after 5 p.m. or weekends? Yes, New Creation Counseling Center holds contracts with licensed professional counselors who set their own hours. Several of our counselors are available after 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday evenings and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Christian Counseling? Yes, all of our counselors read and accept our Covenant and Doctrinal Statement when they contract with us. All of our counselors are church members and have a relationship with Jesus Christ. You can expect professional counseling with a Biblical perspective. You may request prayer or scripture to enhance your counseling experience.
...........Testing:
New Creation Counseling Center offers several types of testing that can be helpful to your counseling experience and personal growth. Many psychological tests will incur a fee as explained in our Client Handbook. Test fees may or may not be covered by your health insurance plan.
MMPI: Minnesota Multi-phasic Personality Inventory. This test will help your counselor get a better evaluation of your counseling needs and, together, you can set counseling goals based on your personality style. The MMPI may be administered by your counselor, but scoring and interpretation must be done by the staff psychologist. You will also meet with the staff psychologist for an interview during this process.
SASSI: Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory. This test , many times, is ordered by the court or probation department for persons with a DUI charge. It may also be used by a chemical dependency counselor as an evaluation method for clients. There is a small fee for the SASSI test, which is explained in detail in our Client Handbook. Fees must be paid in full before a report is sent to the court/probation officer, school or work.
Other tests administered by your counselor at New Creation might include: Beck Depression Scale, Taylor-Johnson Temperament Test, MBTI Temperament test, Anger Inventory, or other tests as necessary. Tests which require more than self-scoring will incur a client charge.
Child Depression Inventory (CDI): Testing procedure and costs can be discussed with your child's counselor or therapist.
MASC: Multidimensional Anxiety Scale for Children: Testing procedures, costs and results should be discussed with your child's counselor or therapist.
PIC: Personality Inventory for Children: There is a small fee for this test, which is explained in the Client Handbook.
