NEXUS

Mental Health Counseling in Your Child's School.

New Creation Counseling Center has partnered with several local school districts to offer services to students through our NEXUS program, a school-based mental health counseling program.

The goal of this program is to provide mental health counseling to students in their schools, so that accessing services is more affordable and convenient for students and their families. Students in the NEXUS program meet regularly with a mental health therapist at their school during school hours to address a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues, including depression, anxiety, anger, behavioral problems, and family conflict. Care is taken by school staff to minimize students’ absences from academic classes while receiving services.

Mental health services are currently provided at seven school districts in Miami and Shelby County:

  • Anna Schools
  • Bradford Schools
  • Covington Schools
  • Fort Loramie Schools
  • Miami County ESC
  • Miami East Schools
  • Tipp City Schools
  • Upper Valley Career Center

The goal of New Creation Counseling Center is to provide affordable services to students. If a student is covered by insurance or Medicaid, we ask that parents use their insurance to pay for services. However it is New Creation’s mission to provide counseling regardless of the ability to pay. If a child does is not covered by insurance, or if parents fear that the cost of using insurance will be too much of a burden, arrangements have been made to provide services to those students at no cost to parents.

If your child is in one of the school districts that we serve, and If you are interested in your child receiving services at their school through our NEXUS program, please contact your child's school counselor for more information.
